The RAD Fall 2025 Programming
This fall the Rivoli Arts District (the RAD) has something for everyone!
In our Fine & Applied Arts area if you’re looking to get into Dungeons & Dragons, learn Figure Drawing, perfect your Miniature Painting or create with Stop Motion Animation we’ve got you covered!
On the film side join our Film Club this fall as a way to connect with other lovers of movies! We also have Acting for Camera classes and Post-production classes where you’ll learn the editing software DaVinci Resolve, which is quickly becoming an industry must for post-production and color grading . A Film Producing 101 workshop to elevate your behind the scene skills and if you have school age children check out our “In-Service Days” where throughout the school year we will be providing day-long film & art activities and a movie at the Rivoli Theatre for children who don’t have school during specific week days.

Film Club
Film Club is a monthly series for those who want to go beyond just watching a film.
September Film: Clueless 9/18 $10 student, $15 General Admission

School In-Service Days
Fall Schedule 9/26, 10/3, 10/6, 11/7
9:00-3:00pm*
During the 2025-2026 school year, the Film Academy and Rivoli Theatre will offer activities for students during La Crosse School District’s in-service and “no school” days.
$50 per child, *with $10 upgrade to stay till 4:00pm | Limit 20 children
Best for ages: 7-13
+Students may bring their lunch which will be kept cold in the fridge or they can be accompanied by a staff person and may purchase lunch at Pizzeria Dolorosa for an additional charge. -
Figure Drawing
2nd & 4th Tuesday of each Month | 6:00-8:00pm
A live model will be present. Please bring your own materials and equipment; these sessions are non-instructional. Ages 18+
$15/session, cash at the door or through ticket link.

D&D w/Dusty: Adventure Awaits D&D for Beginners
9/20, 10/18, 11/15, 12/20 Individual Sessions 2:00-5:00pm
This beginner-friendly introduction to Dungeons & Dragons will guide kids through creating their first heroes, learning the rules, and exploring their first adventure together!
All materials included. Best for ages 8-15. Limited to 8 students each session

D&D w/Dusty: Heroes of the Realm Campaign
10/4, 11/1, 12/6 - A 3 session campaign
2:00-5:00pm
Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or new to the game, you’ll dive into epic battles, daring quests, and unforgettable adventures."
All materials included. This is a campaign experience and best if committed to all 3 sessions. Best for ages 8-15. Limited to 4-6 students

Stop Motion Animation: Garden Party
11/8 10:00-12:00pm
In this beginner stop motion animation class we will use iPads to explore, watch, and create a garden scene using several different styles of stop motion animation like claymation, found object animation, cut paper animation, and more!
All students will receive a copy of their creation at the end of the session.
Ideal for ages 7-12 | Limit to 8 students -
Stop Motion Animation: Blast Off!
12/13 10:00-12:00pm
This stop motion animation class is for those creators who have some previous experience with stop-motion and would like to continue to explore more story-telling techniques.
All students will receive a copy of their creation at the end of the session.
Best for ages 10+ | Limited to 8 students

Post Production
Wednesday’s, 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, and 10/15 - 4 session class
Time: 5:30-6:30pm
Join our DaVinci Resolve Bootcamp to learn the art of digital editing, where we’ll explore editing tools and techniques as well as color grading and effects.
No previous experience necessary | Limited to 6 students

On-Camera Acting
Monday’s 11/24, 12/1, 12/8, 12/15 | 5:00-7:30pm
In this 4-class series we will focus on the basics of acting on-camera including; understanding the frame, beat work & active listening, on-camera auditioning techniques, and on-camera monologues. Each participant will leave with a high-end copy of their individual film monologue to use for personal or professional purposes.
No previous experience necessary | Limited to 10 students

Producing 101
Saturday, 11/22 | 1:00-4:00pm
We will teach you the step by step process of how to make sure that you have set your production up for success, allowing the true art in filmmaking to come through instead of scrambling from shot to shot trying to make your day.
Subjects covered will include: Production design process, budgeting, dealing with logistical hurdles, scheduling, starting with a small indie crew and scaling up. Behind every piece of great cinema are hundreds of hours of planning and preparation. This workshop will teach you how valuable those hours can be.

Miniature Painting
Monday’s 11/3 & 12/1 | 5:00-7:30pm
Whether you are a beginner or even an experienced miniature painter, Aaron with Above & Beyond Adventures will teach you all the techniques you need to know and give you the confidence to paint any miniature you desire.
Class fee includes all materials needed as well as a large Rivoli pizza and soft drink pitcher ordered for each class. Join us for a fun and collaborative painting experience!
